Das perfekte Brot zum Grillen? Dieses wunderbare weiche, fluffige Focaccia.

Die wichtigste Zutat neben Mehl und Wasser? Viel Liebe. Denn dieses Brot wird nur dann richtig gut, wenn es liebevoll mit Hand geknetet wird.

Der italienische Teigfladen ähnelt der Pizza und lässt sich beliebig belegen, z.B. mit Oliven, Kräutern oder Cocktailtomaten. Ein bisschen Rucola und Parmesan on top und fertig ist ein leckeres Brot, dass allein durch seinen verführerischen Duft unwiderstehlich ist.

The Italian flat bread which is similar to pizza tastes great with various toppings like olives, herbs or cherry tomatoes. Add a little bit of arugula and parmesan and you have a delicious bread that is irresistible solely by its seductive scent.

Focaccia mit Tomaten

Rezept für 1 Focaccia

500g Weizenmehl (Typ 00)

1 ½ TL Salz

1 Päckchen Trockenhefe

Olivenöl

300 ml warmes Wasser

200g Cocktailtomaten

Rucola

Parmesan

Italienische Kräuter

Zubereitung:

Das Mehl in eine Rührschüssel geben und mit Salz und Trockenhefe mischen. Eine Mulde in der Mitte formen und 3 EL Olivenöl und 300ml warmes Wasser hinzugießen. Nach und nach das Mehl mit dem Öl und dem Wasser vermischen, um einen weichen, klebrigen Teig zu formen.

Den Teig auf einer bemehlen Arbeitsplatte für mind. 10 Minuten kräftig kneten, bis der Teig glatt und elastisch ist. Den Teig zu einer Kugel formen und in eine mit Olivenöl gefettete Schüssel geben.

Den Teig mit Frischhaltefolie abdecken und an einem warmen Ort 1 Stunde gehen lassen.

Eine Backform (oder Backblech) fetten und den Teig darin verteilen. Die Tomaten halbieren, auf dem Teig verteilen und mit Salz und italienischen Kräutern bestreuen.

Das Focaccia wieder mit Frischhaltefolie abdecken und für 30 Minuten an einem warmen Ort gehen lassen.

Backofen auf 200°C vorheizen. Das Focaccia für ca. 25 Minuten backen, bis das Brot goldbraun ist.

Mit Rucola und Parmesan bestreuen und am besten noch warm servieren.

Focaccia with tomatoes

Recipe for 1 Focaccia

500g wheat flour (type 00)

1 ½ tsp salt

1 packet dry yeast

Olive oil

300 ml of warm water

200g cherry tomatoes

Arugula

Parmesan

Italian Herbs

Directions:

Put the flour into a mixing bowl and mix with salt and dried yeast. Form a mold in the middle and pour in 3 tablespoons of olive oil and 300ml of warm water. Gradually mix the flour with the oil and water to form a soft, sticky dough.

Put the dough on a floured workplace and knead for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Shape the dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl with olive oil.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

Distribute the dough in a greased baking pan (or baking sheet). Cut the tomatoes in half, spread over the dough and sprinkle with salt and italian herbs.

Cover the Focaccia with plastic wrap again and leave to rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.

Preheat oven to 200°C. Bake the Focaccia for 25 minutes until the bread is golden brown.

Garnish with arugula and Parmesan cheese and serve best warm.
